Little Wonders is a wonderful learning center located right here in Missouri City. This is where talent, imagination and professional skills are being dedicated to the teaching of our young children. We understand that children learn differently. Through observation and listening, we encourage each individual's unique learning styles; while focusing on their physical, educational and emotional needs. All of our teachers are professionally qualified with combined expertise in education, speech & hearing therapy, bilingual education and English as a Second Language. With a low student-teacher ratio, we provide your child with the attention they need. Little Wonders Learning Center is located at the corner of Lexington Blvd. and Dulles Ave. In this center, you will find a number of warm, loving teachers committed to putting children first. This isn't your ordinary day care facility.

Espanol!

We are excited to announce that Little Wonders has now teamed up with the Language Factory to incorporate Spanish into our curriculum! We are coordinating with a Spanish teacher at the Language Factory to create a Spanish lesson once a week to coincide with our current projects! She will teach them vocabulary, songs, and hold conversations with the children to help them learn Spanish.

The exciting thing is that we will learn songs and Spanish vocabulary that has to do with the subjects we are learning.

Classes will begin tomorrow September 10th at 10:00 a.m., they will be held at Little Wonders. This will be the only week that classes will be on Friday. Beginning next week classes will be every Monday.

Handouts will be provided after the classes start. If you have any questions feel free to ask Maryam.

which animals go in the water?

Today as we started talking about animals swimming in the water!  We put some water in the "ocean" and started grabbing animals that swim.  Some of the children grabbed the dinosaurs!  "Do dinosaurs swim in the ocean?"
"NO!!!!"
The children started sorting through the animals to pick out which ones could go in the "ocean".
Then, Bishop realized that the orca needed a bath!He bathed him and scrubbed him so that he could be clean again to play with his friends! ;0)And all of the "swimming animals" had fun in the ocean all morning long!

tell me more about animals

Everyday the children spend some time revisiting the project we have started on animals.  They will sit together, open up the books, and find the animals they see in the books.  They talk about them, what they eat, what they drink, and what their characteristics are.Noah lined them up for us, and we counted all of the animals.  Phoenix thought the animals should get on a train, so he lined up the blocks and all of the children helped put the animals on the train!

Where do they live? What do they eat?

Well, our love for animals is still strong!  We now have even more animals in our room since we are so interested in them...........
hmmmm..."can all of these animals live together?""What does the giraffe eat?  Where does it live?"  "Where does the whale eat?  Where does he live?"This lead us to grouping the animals together!  The children even started talking about the similarities between animals. "Orcas, and sharks, and dinosaurs have teeth!"  "Do whales have teeth?"  "NO!"
This lead the children to want to start building animals and houses out of blocks for the "animals that live on the ground"..............this beautiful house has a bed and a kitchen (aka chicken)!
Noah made a .......DINOSAUR!!!!Hendrix made this dinosaur, he wanted a picture taken, and when we asked him to smile........
Bishop and Tanay made this special underwater house, but sometimes if the dinosaurs want to, they can come to it! ;0)
