About Me

Little Wonders is a wonderful learning center located right here in Missouri City. This is where talent, imagination and professional skills are being dedicated to the teaching of our young children. We understand that children learn differently. Through observation and listening, we encourage each individual's unique learning styles; while focusing on their physical, educational and emotional needs. All of our teachers are professionally qualified with combined expertise in education, speech & hearing therapy, bilingual education and English as a Second Language. With a low student-teacher ratio, we provide your child with the attention they need. Little Wonders Learning Center is located at the corner of Lexington Blvd. and Dulles Ave. In this center, you will find a number of warm, loving teachers committed to putting children first. This isn't your ordinary day care facility.

There is a lot going on here!

Here is a summary of what topics our class is working on:

  • We are still revisiting our worms, elephants, and tigers! We love to draw them, read about them, and now we are writing so many words about them. Everyday we are learning how to spell more and more!

  • We are in love with dinosaurs also! You can see our new dinosaur drawings hanging in our room. We are reading books about them and learning their names.

  • We are focusing on shapes in every project we do.

  • We are counting, counting, counting! We are recognizing our numbers and trying to write them.
  • But most of all, we are doing a lot of projects about winter! You will see our art work on display at the festival!

I have great news! Mikayla and Ella have been chosen as final contestants for the costume contest from Kiwi Magazine!

Please, please, please take a couple of seconds out of your time to go on the following site and vote for the girls!

They are choosing three girls, so please go on the site twice so that you can vote for each one once so that both of them will win!
Yea! We are so excited for them!

Elephants

Look at the beautiful elephant Siri made!
We all loved it so much, that we cannot stop talking about elephants. We looked at so many interesting pictures of elephants today. Some were drinking water, some were splashing water around with their trunks, some were rolling in the grass, and one elephant was standing next to a car!

Alexandre and Luke started to count the legs! Luke counted 8 legs and Alexander counted 4!

We all started to draw our elephants, and while we drew, we talked and talked about all the things the elephants were doing!

We Love To Build!

It seems we have some mini architects at Little Wonders.......

We are working on making "tall towers", we can even count how many Lego's we use to make this tall tower!

And be careful when you come close to this "jungle", there are all types of animals that live in jungles! We are currently starting a "jungle project"! We can't wait to see all of the things that we will do inside of this project!

Our Art is Coming Alive!

Have you seen our art work lately? It is coming alive!!! We love to draw pumpkins, cars, worms, spiders, jungles..............you name it, we can draw it!
Our new art work will be up soon and I am sure you will all be amazed at how far we have come. Not only is our artwork improving, but our handwriting and spelling is really taking off! It is hard to believe we are 2's and 3's ;0)

One BIG Spider!

Okay, so just call us "spider experts"!
Ask us how many legs and eyes spiders have and we will scream out "EIGHT"! We have been reading books from the library that are specifically about spiders. We love to see the pictures in the books and then draw what we have seen. We are even writing words about spiders, and this is helping us learn our letters and practice writing them as well.............

But, the best part about our spider project is the BIG spider we are working on together! We did paper mache! The spider and the legs have dried, so now for the fun part...............PAINT!

We wanted our spider to be red...

We wanted the legs to be blue...........

But then we wanted the big spider to have babies! We are each making our own baby spider for the mama!

Of course, our spiders will need a home. Ask us where spiders live and we will tell you, "A spider web!" We will make a big web in the coming days, and our spider family will be on display in a very, very special place at the Fall Festival!

Visit from the Fire Department

We were so lucky to get a visit from the Missouri City Fire Department! They taught us so much about fire safety......
We learned how to stop, drop, and roll..............

We watched a fire man put on all of his gear...........

We even gave him high fives, because we weren't scared of the mask he was wearing..........

Then we got to go outside to look at the fire truck. They showed us all the tools on the truck, and we got to ask them questions.............

And, right before they left, they showed us all of the lights on the truck!!!

Thank you to the Missouri City Fire Department!!!
