Little Wonders is a wonderful learning center located right here in Missouri City. This is where talent, imagination and professional skills are being dedicated to the teaching of our young children. We understand that children learn differently. Through observation and listening, we encourage each individual's unique learning styles; while focusing on their physical, educational and emotional needs. All of our teachers are professionally qualified with combined expertise in education, speech & hearing therapy, bilingual education and English as a Second Language. With a low student-teacher ratio, we provide your child with the attention they need. Little Wonders Learning Center is located at the corner of Lexington Blvd. and Dulles Ave. In this center, you will find a number of warm, loving teachers committed to putting children first. This isn't your ordinary day care facility.

One BIG Spider!

Okay, so just call us "spider experts"!
Ask us how many legs and eyes spiders have and we will scream out "EIGHT"! We have been reading books from the library that are specifically about spiders. We love to see the pictures in the books and then draw what we have seen. We are even writing words about spiders, and this is helping us learn our letters and practice writing them as well.............

But, the best part about our spider project is the BIG spider we are working on together! We did paper mache! The spider and the legs have dried, so now for the fun part...............PAINT!

We wanted our spider to be red...

We wanted the legs to be blue...........

But then we wanted the big spider to have babies! We are each making our own baby spider for the mama!

Of course, our spiders will need a home. Ask us where spiders live and we will tell you, "A spider web!" We will make a big web in the coming days, and our spider family will be on display in a very, very special place at the Fall Festival!

Visit from the Fire Department

We were so lucky to get a visit from the Missouri City Fire Department! They taught us so much about fire safety......
We learned how to stop, drop, and roll..............

We watched a fire man put on all of his gear...........

We even gave him high fives, because we weren't scared of the mask he was wearing..........

Then we got to go outside to look at the fire truck. They showed us all the tools on the truck, and we got to ask them questions.............

And, right before they left, they showed us all of the lights on the truck!!!

Thank you to the Missouri City Fire Department!!!

Spiders

One day Matthew drew this spider........... Which led to all of our class wanting to make spiders!

We read books about spiders, looked at pictures of them and saw that they had 8 legs! Every day we are making spiders, and counting to make sure they have 8 legs. If you visit our room, you can see our beautiful art work hanging on the walls!
We are eager to learn more about spiders, so today we watched this video. We saw how spiders spin their webs, how they hatch from eggs, and how they grow!

Now we want to make a "BIG" spider and "BIG" spider web for our room! We are using paper mache to make the spider!

Basil Seed Update!

Good news! The basil seeds are sprouting! Yea!
We are taking good care of them and always making sure they have enough water!
Hopefully soon we will have our own homegrown basil!

Art with Dried Flowers

Our beautiful flower arrangement is no longer alive, but don't worry, we made something so special with the petals! First we took the petals off of the flowers..........

Then we used the petals and leaves to make beautiful art pieces!

Our work will be on display soon ;0)

Basil Seeds!

As we got our garden ready for planting, we cut out our old basil plant that had dried up. The children sat around the table one day and took out all of the little, black seeds that were inside the dried up flowers. We each collected the seeds in our own cups. We took our seeds and put them in little pots, filled them with dirt, watered them, and set them by the window in our class!

Lets see if any of them sprout!
