What color are tomatoes?

We are growing lots of tomatoes in our garden, but some of the children think that they are ready do be picked off of the plant when they are green! We asked, "What color are tomatoes when you buy them from the store?"

The children answered - "GREEN!" ;0) lol

So, we brought in tomatoes from the store in all shapes and sizes, and what do you know, they were RED!

We took all of the tomatoes out, and talked about the color, size and shape of them.

We all worked together and counted all of the tomatoes!

We looked inside the tomatoes and found SEEDS!

Some of us loved eating the tomatoes! We loved them even better with a side of ranch dressing ;0)

We even drew tomatoes, we loved drawing circles and ovals!

And now, we decided that we will leave the tomatoes on the plant until they start turning red!
