Facial Expressions and Emotions!

We have began a very fun project on facial expressions and emotions! We came in one morning and started looking at ourselves in the mirror making faces! Ereeni and Natilia were pushing their cheeks together and making funny faces!  We made some interesting expressions...

                                                                                                  

 

 This encouraged us to take pictures of everyone making a different facial expression. We than looked at each picture to figure out what emotion that child was showing in the picture. We began talking about how we could create are very own faces with different facial expressions!

We focused on on each part on the face. We looked at the shape of our eyes,eyebrows,nose,mouth and hair.We discussed how each one of these parts on the face were a different shape and how it changed every time we made a different expression. The children could not wait to get started creating different faces...

 One of the students started making a gigantic face! When she began on the hair we started talking about how every one's hair is different. Some people have curly, some straight. The different colors of the hair! She decided she wanted wavy brown hair....

These girls used brown and yellow to show their hair color... ;-)

 This student used different kinds of materials to make a sad face. She walked around the room and looked around! She used two tile pieces for the eyes,a  round fuzzy ball for the nose and a black pipe cleaner for the mouth!

The gigantic happy face! =)
